Still Making Socks

Still making socks, didn't get a post up the last couple of weeks but I have a couple of pair of socks finished and another started.  I joined the Sock Madness group on Ravelry and am still in it for Round 3.

I completed the Sockdolagar socks (Round 1) - they feel wonderful on my feet, a challenge to knit but I finally figured it out.

Round 2 of Sockmadness was the Flying Dutchman, an Intarsia pattern.  I had never done that either but plugged away and completed the pair in time to make it to Round 3.  I used ShibuiKnits Yarn - Sock Yarn  (from EatSleepKnit) for this,  colors say "Go Cyclones"

Round 3's pattern is called Greenhouse but maybe mine should be Redhouse.  The yarn is Dream in Color Yarn - Smooshy - Lipstick Lava from EatSleepKnit.  The yarn feels so soft when knitting, hope the sock feels the same too.  I'm almost to the toe for sock 1, it's has a different sole shaping, toe and bind-off.

I also made a few more sock knitting projects bags that I added to my Etsy site.  I made some as gifts and for myself and they have really worked out great.  I'm going to try and get a few more made and online, in between sock knitting of course :-)

And - Hi Amelia!!

  1. Your socks look great. I especially love the bright colors (since it's been dreary and rainy the last couple of days).

  5. Nice socks - I am always afraid to try new patterns, but have started to branch out a bit lately! I love having a zippered bag for knitting that I can quickly grab and pop into my larger day bag when I have to run out and I know I will be waiting... Great job making them. Cheers! Evelyn
