No snow day

All the snow that was supposed to come yesterday was delayed and wasn't as much as predicted so no snow day yesterday.  I do have one sock finished though and progress on the other sock I started.  I am getting quite a few single socks, will need to work on getting "pairs" of socks done!

Here is sock one of the April Showers Mystery KAL using Sock-aholic Yarn from Knitters Brewing Co.  It was really fun to see this pattern emerge.

I also made progress on the Katniss Socks with Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn.  This is for the Loopy Ewe first quarter challenge (use a pattern with cables and one skein) of yarn.  The heel was one I had not done before, it feels nice and thick.  Now I just have to figure how the instructions for the gussett, guess I need to read it a few more times before it sinks in to my brain.   I also got my Loopy Groupie bag with my last order this week, it was a fun package to open!

On the Needles Feb 15th

I have on the needles and an off the needles!  I got the gold socks done using Through the Loops Mystery Sock 2013. They were fun to do but I'm glad they are done!

I also made more progress on the April Shower KAL  I picked a really pretty dark green with flecks of brighter green which doesn't show the pattern very well.  The yarn is really nice though, Sock-aholic Yarn from Knitters Brewing Co.  The pattern has zig zag lightning up the sides and on the cuff at top, then clouds, raindrops, umbrella and flowers at the bottom.

I also started on a green/purple pair of socks for the Loopy Ewe First Quarter Challenge which requires knitting a cable in the pattern.  The pattern I am using is Katniss Socks and the yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock

Almost there

I'm almost done with this pair - yay!  They have been a challenge but I learned a lot. The yarn is Malabrigo Sock and I think the color is Ochre purchased at The Loopy Ewe.  The pattern is mystery sock KAL from Through the Loops

On the needles February 1

Still doing socks and making progress.  I've finished the first TTL Mystery sock (gold) and started on the second one. It's going much better this time, not making as many mistakes to undo and redo.  I really like the pattern on the top of the foot.

I've also completed one Crimple Sock and made progress on the April Showers one.  The April showers sock (in dark green) is a mystery sock KAL also.  So far I have flowers on the toes, umbrellas on the top of the foot, raindrops and the new clue has lightening bolts on the heel and heel turn area.  It's fun to see each new pattern emerge, fun that is if I counted and did the stitches correct!

I found an app for my iPad that I used and found that it helps me keep track of where I'm at, what is next, counting, etc.  KnitCompanion (14.99 in tunes) has lots of great features which I am still learning.  The website has lots of video tutorials, check out the introduction and knitting with knitcompanion to see a few of the features.  I got an iTunes gift card for Christmas and thought this was a perfect use of it!  I also got a Colorado Wildflowers app for my iphone which looks good also.
