Socks and Bags

I headed south last weekend to visit DD2 in Texas.  It was warm and sunny there but cold and snowy when I headed back to Iowa on Monday.  At least I flew the day before they cancelled flights in and out of Chicago!

I've been working on finishing the purple/green socks (Katniss pattern, yarn Lorna's Lace Shepard Sock).  One sock is done and one almost has the heel turned and just the foot left.

I've also been making bags, in the hoop bags on my embroidery machine.  I made a few knitting bags that were given as a gift, a couple for me, a new bag sized for my Kindle and an owl bag.  I'm also including the "what not to do" version of the owl bag.  I thought a black/red combo would be pretty and match the other small bags I was making for myself.  It didn't turn out quite that way, black embroidered eyes on a black background don't really show up and it's reallllllly hard to open the bag if the zipper is sewn in upside down.....sigh

    1. Thanks - fun to see the color pattern emerge isn't it?

  2. I like you bags. Did you design them yourself or get the pattern/instruction elsewhere? Just wondering. I've only made really small things in the hoop.

    1. Thanks, I didn't design them, just inserted some embroidery on a couple of them. I put all the design info into this post. Let me know if you have questions.
