It's on the needles and hopefully soon off the needles projects today. Sock one of the watermelon socks is completed and sock two is almost done. That will be the last pair for Christmas gifts. I've made progress with the scarf also, just needs another inch or so of the ribbing and it will be done. The scarf is being knitted with the TGV (High Speed Knitting pattern) and the sock pattern I have been using is the Basic Ribbed Sock pattern. I think I am ready to try a new sock pattern - so many to choose from!
I have a few questions about blocking - do you block socks? How wet do you get the project when blocking? Any good websites with blocking information? I've found so many videos online for how to do different stitches, great for someone who doesn't live close to a yarn shop.
Check out what everyone else has on the needles at Patchwork Times.

Your watermelon socks are great. I think Judy Laquidara had a post once about blocking socks. You might do a search on her blog. I know she has a form that she puts inside them for photographing sometimes. I love the colors of your watermelon ones. They should go with any color the recipient wears. Lucky them !
ReplyDeleteThanks - I'll give it a try.
DeleteLove that yarn on the socks! I have never blocked socks and I've made lots of them. Most of the yarn I buy is machine washable and dryable so those socks just get tossed in with the laundry. I have made some pairs from yarns that require more gentle handling and I hand wash them and let them line dry. I figure my feet act as sock blockers - LOL!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan!

Thanks - it is a knit picks yarn, Stroll hand painted I believe. It's fun to see it knit out.
DeleteNice, colorful socks! How do you like the TGV pattern? It's on my list.....
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice easy knit, I'm eager to get it finished and see it full size.
